Get to Know Emma

M.S., RMHCI  |  Therapist in Miami Beach

You might be someone who looks like you’re doing fine from the outside, but internally, things feel a lot more complicated.

The relationship you thought would make you happy doesn’t. You keep finding yourself drawn to the same kinds of people, having the same arguments, or feeling the same anxiety when someone gets too close (or not close enough). You know you’re unhappy with certain patterns, but you’re not entirely sure where they came from or how to stop repeating them.

Or maybe nothing is obviously wrong. You’re just feeling disconnected from yourself. From who you are underneath the roles you’ve learned to play, what you actually want, and what it feels like to be present and grounded in your body.

Therapist in Miami Beach

About Me

I’m Emma. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, relationships, and trauma.

My style as a therapist is warm, curious, and relational. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can say the thing you almost didn’t say. Where we can be genuinely curious about the parts of you that are confusing, contradictory, uncomfortable, or harder to understand.

My job isn’t to tell you how to live your life. Instead, I offer you my compassion, nervous system, curiosity, and hope when it’s hard to access your own. Eventually the things you borrowed become things you can carry for yourself.

Another Miami transfer from the Northeast, I feel so grateful to call this beautiful city home. Outside of therapy, I’m usually reading in the sun near a body of water, spending time at the barre studio, or channeling my inner Anthony Bourdain.

How I Work

My Approach and How I Work

A lot of the people I work with are insightful. You may already be good at understanding why you feel the way you do.

But knowing where something comes from and actually changing your experience of it are two different things.

That’s where our work can begin.

I draw from:

  • Humanistic therapy
  • Attachment-based therapy
  • Somatic-informed approaches
  • Nervous-system-informed approaches

We might look at how your earliest relationships shaped what closeness feels like to you now, notice what happens in your body when words only get us so far, or explore the patterns and different parts of yourself that seem to keep showing up.

Rather than only asking, “How do we make this feeling go away?” I’m interested in what it might be trying to tell us.
