You may understand yourself pretty well and still find yourself repeating patterns you know aren’t working.
Maybe you become consumed by anxiety in relationships. You second-guess your judgment, struggle to say no, or return to people and situations you promised yourself you were done with. You know you need a boundary, but feel guilty the moment you set one.
From the outside, you might seem successful and capable. Inside, you may feel overwhelmed, perfectionistic, or much less certain of yourself than other people would imagine.
Knowing where a pattern comes from doesn’t always make it easier to respond differently when it shows up.
That space between understanding yourself and being able to do something different is where I’m most interested in working with you.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
About Me
I’m Emily, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. My style is warm, engaged, and direct. I’m not a therapist who sits back and says very little.
I’ll be curious with you, reflect patterns I notice, and challenge you when I think it could be useful. There’s also room for the parts of your experience that don’t make perfect sense yet.
I was drawn to this work because I’ve always been interested in what shapes people beneath the surface. Why we repeat what we repeat. How our experiences and relationships change us. What actually allows people to change.
I feel lucky to do work where people trust me with these parts of their lives.
Outside of therapy, I love yoga, traveling, and my dog, Raisn. I’m also usually reading or learning about psychology, spirituality, or the many different ways people make sense of being human.
How I Work
My Approach and How I Work
You may already understand where your anxiety, people-pleasing, or relationship patterns come from. But understanding something and being able to respond differently in the moment can feel very far apart.
I believe insight matters. Therapy also needs to become experiential for change to reach beyond what you already understand intellectually.
I draw from:
- EMDR Therapy
- Somatic and attachment-focused therapy
- Parts work / Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Mindfulness approaches
EMDR can help process experiences that still feel emotionally or physically stuck. Somatic work helps us notice and work with what happens in your body when old patterns are activated.
Parts work helps us understand the different sides of you that may want very different things, without treating those contradictions as something that needs to be fixed.
We can make room for all of it. The parts you understand, the parts that feel confusing, and the possibility of responding in a way that feels different.
